The Conservation Commission issued a positive determination for the proposed disc golf course behind Constantino Field at its meeting last Monday. This determination means the wetland delineation line was set by the committee. The Recreation Committee will need to either file a notice of intent with the commission regarding the proposed bridge on the course and provide more information such as engineered plans and schematics or change the proposed bridge, according to Conservation Agent Erica Larner.
Belchertown Recreation Department Director Kyle Thibeault presented the proposed course to the commission. One particular concern commission members had was regarding a proposed footbridge over an intermittent stream.

“This is the best spot for us to access the parcel of land for the disc golf course,” Thibeault said. “This would navigate people across the runoff. The idea is to have the span of the bridge be seven feet long and five feet wide. This would be the main entrance and exit to the parcel and the course.”
