The Town of Belchertown’s Parks and Recreation Department is excited to announce a new project; the creation of Belchertown’s first disc golf course. The course will be located at the Constantino Field recreation area, behind, and north of the existing soccer field. The land used is owned by the Town of Belchertown, and in cooperation with the Conservation Commission, leverages existing and compliant open space.

Disc golf is one of the fastest growing sports in the country. This is due in large part to the minimal costs associated with playing the sport and developing courses. Disc golf is also a lifetime sport enjoyed by people of all ages and provides a full body form of exercise. 

The Town of Belchertown and Belchertown Recreation Department will add Disc Golf to the expanding list of recreational activities available to both the residents and visitors to Belchertown, alike. In the para-COVID era we find ourselves in, QVDG will also provide a unique opportunity for socially distant outdoor recreation. 

To achieve this goal The Belchertown Recreation department have designed, and are building, and will maintain a 18-hole, competition caliber course that will be highly accessible to everyone and free to play. This project was partially funded by the Belchertown CPC and is continually supported from Quabbin Valley Disc Golf, Inc., A non-profit organization formed specifically to help fund and maintain the QVDG course and other recreational activities in the town of Belchertown and beyond. 

In addition to the 18 playable holes (18 baskets with 2 unique throwing locations/tee boxes per basket) the course offers more accessible holes, which can be played independently, in the front parking lot area of the layout. This is also a great practice and learning area for the community.
